Review of Life 4

Possibilities for our Future?

SEE

  1. Let’s pick up from all that has been said or written (since the beginning of March) about the necessary changes’ society needs to make.
  2. In what areas has there been concerns about the organisation and functioning of our society, in the economy, in politics, and in the church?
  3. In what areas are we personally affected the most in our daily lives?

JUDGE

  1. At a human level what vision of humanity has these dramatic events given us?
  2. Under what conditions has this global health crisis really changed our way of thinking about human existence?
  3. What has already changed in human relationships and which can change the way of living in society? And under what conditions is this possibly?

Let’s meditate on the text below from Luke’s Gospel

    • •22 One day Jesus got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” 23 So they set out, and as they sailed he fell asleep. Suddenly a storm came down on the lake and the boat began to fill with water, and they were in danger. 24 The disciples then went to Jesus to wake him, saying, “Master! Master! We are sinking!” Jesus woke up. He rebuked the wind and the rolling waves; the storm subsided, and all was quiet.

25 Then Jesus said to them, “Where is your faith?” They had been afraid; now they were astonished and said to one another, “Who can this be? See, he commands even the wind and the sea and they obey him!”

Let’s read what Pope Francis has written:

“It is important to always remember that this planet is shared by the whole of humanity, the mere fact of just being born in a place with fewer resources and less development does not imply having to live with less dignity.

To speak in truth about our rights, it is necessary to enlarge the view and lend an ear to the cries of other people and other regions in our country.

We need to grow in solidarity which allows all peoples of the world to become the artisan of their own destiny, also that each human being is called to fulfil their own development.

It’s important to search for unity and not to follow the logic of the big fish swallowing the tiny fish.

What can I say about MY FAITH IN THE FUTURE? MY FAITH IN GOD? Who opens us up to this future?

ACT

  1. What am I going to do PERSONALLY to prepare for a better future? How am I going to change my behaviour? In what areas?
  2. What are we going to decide to do IN THE GROUP (MCW) (WMCW) to change opinions and the ways of consumption and to equip ourselves?
  3. What collective declaration (national or international) could the movement affirm another conception of life in society etc...?
